When you're trapped under the ice, there's no way but down.
You scratch at the mirror above you, grasping at any chance for survival, but the current keeps dragging you further down.
Icy water stings your lungs as they slowly fill up, and you gradually accept that you are going to die.
That's it.
That's the end of the line for you and the life you once had.
Tears gently creep out of the corner of your eyes, but no one can see them.
You wonder why you let yourself get into this mess, but you can't seem to remember anything but your impending doom.
There is that constant thought that if you just hold on a bit longer, you'll find that hole in the ice you fell through.
You can't help but wonder that someone will rescue you.
You can't help but think someone will be your knight in shining armor.
But this is the real world.
And in the real world, when you're trapped under the ice, you never get out.
When you're trapped, you die.
